cartographical work by making a map of Zanzibar, scale 1:100.000.

It
all began as a
partnership between a
frustrated Australien cartographer who loved South America and railed
against the inadequacies of maps of that continent and a Canadian map
distributer and retailer who was equally frustrated by the lack of maps
related to South America for his customers. That was 1983. The key to
success was the release of the first country map in 1990, Costa Rica,
just as tourism to that country started to explode. Other beautiful
creations followed and suddenly ITMB
was a recognized name and they
found themselves filling a niche that everyone else had ignored.
Jenny Lefferts is

Francisco and purchased her first motorcycle. She was instantly hooked
and began searching the area for the best scenic roads. The seed for
MAD Maps was planted and shortly thereafter, the company was launched.

One Day Walks
is in
fact a hobby that’s gotten out of hand. Because they realised that
other guides often did not meet up with their expectations and wishes,
they came up with the idea to make one ourselves. All three of them
work in the communication business and therefore had some ideas about
concept and design. And because they definitely wanted to do their own
thing, they decided to become publishers by themselves. In 2006 One
Day Walks published their first book, Walking on Menorca, in Dutch.
Then they really got cracking with the publications of Devon (2007),
Corfu (2008), Värmland (2009), Rhodes (2010) and Västernorrland (2011).

today's
owner of Südtirol
Bike Arena KG, Ignaz Zublasing, began to
explore on his mountainbike the mountains and forests arround his
hometown Eppan on the wine route. After exploring his home territory
Montiggler forest, he wanted to explore new areas. So a little group of
pioneers decided to create mountain bike guides, as it is needed by a
real biker.
The map should guarantee for fun on the bike, therefore the name "Fun Bike" was easily found. Where is the angry farmer, where go the pensioners for a walk, where is a nature trail, points of conflicts and disagreeable surprises were debured, the routes were checked and evaluated by themselves, continous updates are understood..
