Antica - reproductions of old
maps
Around 1540, Emperor Karl V. put in charge the cartographer Gerhard
Mercator to create a drawing of a new map collection. Karl V. wanted to
have the Holy German Empire as well as the world, shown as it was known
in this time.Antica released those old maps as maps of the XVII - XVIII. century, printed on artificially aged parchment paper. The collection contains the oldest maps of different regions. A decorative gift for any occasion.
After eight weeks and after many successive special baths and dryings, the parchment paper gets its yellow and old fashioned look.
ANTICA maps are available rolled in elegant, high-quality antique tubes.
