One Day Walks - Travel guides for Swedens' regions
One Day Walks is a small Dutch publishing house, run by three dedicated hikers: Marco Barten, Paul van Bodengraven und Marjan Wildeboer.
Working all three in communication business they decided to develop their own concept of walking guides. For each destination a collection of (semi) day tours is put together, mostly circular walks. Length of the tours differs from 6km to 22km. Each tour has a detailed route description and information on distance, time and difficulty.
The guides are all illustrated with a lot of pictures on what can be seen along the route
A good route description can only be made when one has walked the route himself. That’s why all route are walked by the authors themselves, just as they take all the pictures. In six consecutive years six guides are published in The Netherlands, with destinations as Corfu, Rhodes, Devon, Menorca and two Swedish provinces. Good sales in The Netherlands and an increasing demand among German walkers for routes in Sweden tempted the company to put out two walking guides in German, with routes in two Swedish provinces that attract a lot of German tourist each year: Värmland and Västernorrland.
