It began several years ago with a vision and became reality in 2002 when John Szal of SPHERICAL CONCEPTS INC., and Torsten Oestergaard of COLUMBUS VERLAG GMBH founded a new joint venture, Cartodirect GmbH. Cartodirect serves the European market as a distributor of maps and globes from the manufacturer direct to the retailer.
 
Now, Cartodirect is pleased to announce another major step forward in its development. CARTOTHEQUE E.G.G. has joined the founders as a third partner, effective February 1, 2005. The Levy family brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in distribution, and will help Cartodirect continue to build on its foundation of outstanding product selection and excellent customer service.
 
Cartodirect guarantees the customers a varied program of the best cartographic products. From the warehouse in South Germany all available titles can be supplied without delay to the trade (book trade and office supplies) in all European countries.
